Don’t Keep Suffering From Chronic Hives

Chronic urticaria, better known as chronic hives, may happen for many different reasons that may be difficult to pinpoint. The question is how do you go about following a hives treatment program, when you don’t know the source? The first step is to understand what hives are and what causes them.

Generally, an allergy to a food or medication is a major cause of chronic hives. Think of a case of hives as a warning system that goes off when your body is rejecting a substance. The trouble occurs when you can’t recognize which substance is causing the problem, so you have a chronic issue.

When you see your doctor, they will ask you a series of questions including what kinds of medicines you’re currently taking. If the doctor thinks a medication you take causes your hives, they will probably tell you to quit taking it and they may put you on a different medication, instead. When food is the source of your hives, all you should have to do is try not to eat the food or foods that cause the problem. It can take a long time to narrow down what specific item is causing your hives, sometimes, though.

But chronic hives can also be the result of a low grade infection - even a simple sinus infection could be the culprit. So, if you don’t know why you’re getting hives, you definitely need to discuss the problem with your doctor. No matter what, while you’re waiting for a diagnosis, it’s important to try not to scratch at your hives, since it will only make matters worse. Anti-itch creams and lotions can help relieve some of the itching.

You might even take an antihistamine to combat your hives, if your doctor recommends it. Of course, since there are tons of over the counter antihistamines, you can get them at any drugstore. Fast-acting cream versions are also an option, if you don’t want your antihistamines in pill form. If you have a particularly bad case, your doctor may even prescribe a prescription form.

Sometimes it just comes down to using whatever means possible to prevent chronic hives outbreaks, regardless of cause. Home remedies, for example, can be very useful to you in treating chronic hives. You can either buy natural remedies in a store or make them yourself at home. A good hives treatment should reduce both swelling and itching and allow you to be comfortable.

September 16th, 2009    Subscribe To Our Feed

Makeup minerals can be confusing. In the past year those has been so much media hype about mineral makeup that everyone is looking for natural mineral remedies. But not all makeup minerals work the same. The most common mineral makeup might be completely ineffective. If you choose to use these mineral makeups, they may cause some difficulties.

Of course you would want the best out the the minerals. But, they probably shouldn’t switch all their makeup over to mineral makeup. Maybe they just want earth minerals. Or maybe its just for the anti-aging benefits. Could be that they just want to stay away from potential problems minerals can cause.

You should completely understand the mineral content in your natural makeup. There are many different makeup minerals. We have put together a list below. Your makeup’s ingredients will become more understandable to you.

Zinc and zinc oxide
Pure mineral makeups usually contain these products. They are natural sunscreens. They will also be a great help in smoothing out your features while hiding wrinkles. The minerals are in pure form and will not irritate your skin.

Titanium dioxide
In most mineral makeups this is a common ingredient. It smoothes irregularities in complexion This is recommended for those with acne or rosacea problems as it can help relieve. But, they can also mix it with artificial ingredients which can result in the makeup being less hypoallergenic.

Mica
The anti-aging mineral that is added to these natural makeups is Mica. It will actually reflect light away from your wrinkles. It also deflects attention from irregularity. When this mineral is added to makeup, it is ground up so fine that you can’t tell its there. Non-mineral makeups also contain this pure mineral.

Bismuth
Bismuth is a very contentious mineral. Bismuth is also an organic mineral. However, it has to be processed to be used in mineral makeup. You cannot simply grind it into powder. Some people claim that it should not count as a pure earth mineral. Users tend to really love the “glow” that it creates. It also can cause itching if you tend to sweat or have sensitive skin.

Talc
One of the most often used minerals is talc. It has played a major role in cosmetics since before written history. But, many people are highly allergic to this mineral. It is usually used as a filler in most makeup. Talc is in most all conventional makeups. Pure mineral makeup products usually leave out talc because it is a common allergen.

In addition you need to be very clear in your mind that even if you are going to use a common asthma medication that you are sure about how these medications work and what the side effects of them are that you may have to deal with.

Use Advair Diskus For Common Asthma Medication

A common asthma medication, Advair Diskus has been used quite widely and this is in fact an asthma medication that needs to be inhaled and it is also equally suitable for use by kids as too by adults and it comprises two different ingredients. It is however only a good common asthma medication for those people that normally experience moderate or even severe symptoms of asthma and who have not been able to get relief from using inhaled steroids.

Albuterol is common asthma medication because it provides quick relief and after taking this medication you can then expect that your asthma symptoms will reduce considerably. This form of asthma medication is also referred to as a bronchodilator and it too can be used with equal effect by children as well as by adults. However, it is not recommended using this common asthma medication over the long term because of danger of serious side effects.

Singular too is a common asthma medication that is of course only available through prescription from a doctor and it is usually taken orally and it works by preventing and controlling symptoms of asthma in adults as well as in children. It is also a common asthma medication that helps treat indoor as well as outdoor allergic conditions though it is not an inhaled steroid and so it makes for a most suitable alternative for those asthmatic patients that have tried inhaled steroids – but without much success.

Xolair, Xopenex, Slo-Bid, Pulmincort, Flovent and Ovar are the types of asthma medications.

How Fungus Can Grow in the Sinus Cavities…

August 30th, 2009    Subscribe To Our Feed

grossan nasal irrigation

Did you know that fungus can grow in the sinus cavities? A lot of people are unaware that this is possible. This lack of understanding has the potential to lead to health problems. Quite often, this fungus is one of the primary causes behind painful sinus infections. Learning how to identify and deal with it can save you from a lot of pain and misery.

Many people have chronic allergies for which the hydro pulse can often be helpful.  When that happens, things like pollen, dust, and dander can irritate the sinuses. The debris lodges inside of your sinuses. Bacteria begin to reproduce as a result. Fungus can grow as well. This is frightening to even think about, but fungus can be found everywhere. Some studies show that there is even fungus floating around in the air.

Typically, fungus thrives in dark, moist places. Naturally, your nose and your sinus cavities definitely fit that bill. When fungus gets into the sinus cavities, who knows how quickly it can grow? As it gets bigger, however, it causes more and more pain as a sinus infection. Sometimes, a sinus rinse may be prescribed by your doctor.

There are some treatment methods which can help you clear up the fungus which may be causing sinus infections. If you are looking for natural treatment options, you might consider xylitol, which is often used as a natural sweetener.

Nasal cavity irrigation may help you as well. Basically, you flush out your sinus cavities with a mixture of warm salt water and sodium bicarbonate, which is used to act as a buffer. There are a number of tools available for this method.

Of course, there are plenty of medicinal options available as well. A nasal irrigation system may be of benefit. The best thing to do when you get a sinus infection is to go see your doctor. You may actually be able to stop the problem before they start becoming chronic.
